Q: How do you come up with the designs?
A: All of my models are designed from scratch. There are instances that some mechs inspired by certain popular existing mecha design and these are normally mentioned in the blog post when I finish a build.

Q: How tall is each build?
A: Roughly 8″ / 20cm / 20-21 bricks / 25 studs with slight variations depending on the model and weapons

Q: How many pieces does each build have?
A: It would depend per build but on average, around 500+ pieces

Q: Do you use custom pieces?
A: I only use 100% official LEGO pieces for my builds. No painting, parts modification, and 3rd party pieces

Q: Do you have tutorials on how to build my own LEGO mech?
A: I have a few articles that discuss building and designing mechs in my website. Please check the tutorial section for more information.

Q: Do you sell any of your models?
A: I unfortunately rarely sell my finished models. I have a few designs up for sale as instructions over at my shop .

I’m more open to commission-based inquiries as I can build for you a mecha design that’s really for you. Kindly check the commission‘s page for more information.

Q: Can I get the instructions for X mech?
A: Kindly check the shop page. Only designs sold there are available. I don’t make instructions like the usual step-by-step 3D build guide and instead make more of a hobby kit manual / art book that is professionally designed with photos and detailed write-ups about the design.

Q: Do you use any 3d building software for your builds?
A: I work mostly with physical bricks as the connections I use are harder to replicate digitally. There are rare occasions that I use Mecabricks, LDD, or Stud.io for my instruction manuals or to test out a larger non-mech concepts like hangar dioramas.

Q: How long have you been doing this?
A: I was an avid LEGO mech builder back in my childhood but stopped sometime in the 90s to pursue other hobbies. I only started my LEGO mecha building back in 2013.

Q: What are your major influences for your designs?
A: I’m a huge fan of Japanese Mecha designs and had played a ton of mecha games and watched a lot of mecha series. My key game influences would be Front Mission, Armored Core, Zone of Enders, and Virtual On while on the anime/manga side, it’d be Gundam, Gurren Lagann, Escaflowne, Evangelion, Five Star Stories, Macross, etc. Special mention to Five Star Stories, Escaflowne, and the UC Gundam timeline.
